Oerlikon Riri and STA Lugano, the Advanced Specialized School of Fashion Design, renew their shared commitment to supporting young talents in the Ticino region. This collaboration led to the development of a training project in which a final-year student, Giada Canzali, completed a six‑month internship within the company. The goal was to bring the academic world closer to industrial reality and foster concrete development of professional skills.
During her internship, Giada developed the diploma project “Readapt by Recycling,” inspired by the principles of the circular economy. The work led to the creation of an original vest that, thanks to the innovative use of a Riri zipper, can transform into a practical bag! The accessories used played a central role in the project: the zippers, produced by Riri, feature an elegant brass puller designed specifically for this project; the pockets are fastened with the iconic Zero buttons from the Cobrax range; while the buckles, manufactured by Oerlikon Fineparts, allow both the vest’s shoulder straps and the bag’s shoulder strap to be adjusted.
This collaboration confirms Oerlikon Riri commitment to supporting education and fostering the creativity of the new generations, offering students the opportunity to approach the professional world and engage with real projects. It is a journey that continues to generate value, innovation, and new possibilities for the future of the fashion industry.
