“Separate collection”: this is the title of Polimoda Fashion Show, which, on June the 12th, on the occasion of the 94th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, enlivened the fascinating spaces of Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence. Before a selected audience of fashion insiders, journalists, companies and professionals in the sector, plus a prestigious international panel, students from the final year of the Undergraduate Fashion Design course presented their creations in a mix of fashion, sustainability and fashion upcycling.
Invited to express their identity – the lack of which is regarded as the main reason behind excessive consumerism in contemporary society – these upcoming designers have expressed, through their choice of materials and accessories, their personal view on ethical fashion.
The sponsor of the event also included Riri, which provided the student Federica Meyer with some zipper models for her collection. The support to the young fashion designer follows in the footsteps of an approach which has always characterised the Group: standing beside young talents, sharing its expertise to always generate new and innovative ideas. It is exactly this concept that has led the Group, over the past few years, to starting several important partnerships with major fashion institutes and schools and to promote innovative educational projects on the domestic and international scene.
